Phase 4

Phase 4 - Practical Component - Educational and Pedagogical Practice

Steps 3 (answer: AI tool evaluation) and 4 (lesson plan).

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing the field of education, and one of the areas where it has had the greatest impact is language learning. AI-powered tools such as Duolingo, Grammarly, Elsa Speak, Replika, and ChatGPT have significantly improved the way people learn, practice, and refine their English and other language skills by offering more personalized, accessible, and dynamic learning experiences.

For example, Duolingo uses gamification and adaptive algorithms to match lessons to each user's level and learning pace, making the process more engaging and effective, which benefits the retention of vocabulary and grammar structures. Grammarly, in turn, functions as an intelligent writing assistant that identifies grammatical errors, suggests stylistic improvements, and evaluates the tone of texts, promoting more accurate and mindful writing.

Elsa Speak specializes in improving pronunciation through advanced voice recognition. It evaluates how the learner speaks and provides detailed feedback to help them sound more natural and confident. Tools like Replika and ChatGPT allow users to practice real-time conversations with AI chatbots, which is especially helpful for developing fluency in a pressure-free and nonjudgmental environment, encouraging spontaneous language use.

Moreover, AI benefits not only students but also educators. It provides detailed analyses of student performance, helps identify common errors, and allows teachers to adapt content to individual needs, making teaching more efficient and inclusive particularly in virtual or hybrid learning settings.

In conclusion, Artificial Intelligence is not only enhancing language learning it is transforming it.

With its ability to offer immediate feedback, continuous practice opportunities, and personalized experiences, AI is opening up new possibilities to make language education more effective, engaging, and accessible to all.
